Default Sydney or Melbourne?

Hi Guys,
Just a quick question.
I am currently working on a 457 visa at a private hospital in the south eastern suburbs of Melbourne and hating every minute of it.

I am now starting the process for permanent residency and have contacted a number of nursing agencies seeking alternative employment. One has offered me a chance of a post in Westmead Hospital, Parramatta. Does anyone have any advice about working and moving and living in NSW/Sydney.
Financial Implications e.g. taxes, GST, Living Expenses etc.

All advice welcomed.

What is it that you don't like about Melbourne.

We used to live just a little bit west from Parramatta. Thinking about it, I even lived in Parramatta for a year, ages ago I know parts of Westmead hospital pretty well. They have a good Dental Teaching hospital aswell, they even practice on patients without charging them

Taxes GST etc will all be the same, and even most living expenses will probably be similar.
