Default Sydney locals calls - quick question

Have landed in sydney today! - Hurray!!!

We are in serviced apartments where the charge is 80c for a local call of unlimited length. The ISP I am dialing up from implies it's a local call but the number is 8207 7000 and I thought all sydney numbers began with a 9?

Will this be a local call charge or am I running up a huge bill??

Phewwww, thanks - Just realised I ahve been on-line for nearly an hour and if it wasn't a local call then this would be getting rather pricey!!!

Need to spend a fair bit of time looking for an apartment so need to have cheap access!

When I moved up to Brisbane from Sydney, my laptop dial up still had the Sydney ISP connection number set up in it, and I forget to change it. About 4 hours of Dial up connection later at InterState rates !!! Ouch.

From that moment on I realised never ever put the State code (02 or 07 etc) in the number set up.

I just looked up the acay network site and saw this warning: "Before using these access numbers, please dial 1300 362 162 and ask if the number is local from your dialling area. If the access number is not local, think twice because we will not pay long distance or toll charges, even if the numbers appear to be local"
although it does specify Local call access from:
Sydney Metro area 02 8207 7000

You are in the "Sydney Metro" area ?
