Default Sydney - Hornsby - Food And Drink?

Does anyone know of anywhere decent to have a drink and some food in Hornsby?

Had a look on Eatability.com.au but not very inspiring, apart from recommendations to avoid Toscani's like the plague!

Much appreciated, ta.

Big.

You do not say what you consider decent food

Pub grub aussie style - Blue Gum Hotel, has an indoor barbie where you can cook your own steaks. Possibly it is counted as Waitara but still walking distance from the train station at Hornsby.

Some of the Thai places are nice. What sort of evening is it to be?

Thanks for the swift reply. Going to meet the missus at Hornsby station after work and go for a drink, then have a bite to eat later. Don't get much chance to go out these days, but in-laws taking care of our little girl tonight. We might check out the Blue Gum for a drink.

Would prefer a nice restaurant rather than Pub Grub, but there isn't much choice around Hornsby, it would seem - though it's the easiest place for us to meet. Prefer Italian, or modern Australian (whatever that may be). We're fond of Thai but have been eating a lot of it lately.

Failing the above, do you know of a good Indian?

Also, do you think it would be easy to get a cab going towards Berowra later, or should one of us drive?

cheers again,

Big.

Ok the Blue Gum is a bit more than pub grub and it is serve yourself but we have taken people out there, we have even had to book sometimes. The nice thing is you can have a drink easily cause it has the pub part as well.

Opium which is Thai - Railway Parade other side of the tracks to Westfield. Not the dressiest of places but rate the food.

Curry wise - I think the Indian Tea and Curry in Turramura is good. We get our deliveries from there regulalry, not UK version of course but neh bad.

Have just phoned hubby and we can't think of anywhere else we have been. I will also find out the name of the Indian over in Dural we were strongly recommended that once.

Taxis should be easy to pick up at the station at Hornsby.

Failing all that you can do our shopping tonight with our daughter in the Westfield and we will try and find you somewhere nice to go another night!!!

Enjoy your evening
