Sydney FTC - Tuesday 2nd September

Our last couple of meets have been out in the Hills so we are hoping to agree on a venue nearer to the coast this time. There are a few new posters in the Northern Beaches area so to give them the chance to join us has anyone got any suggestions for a suitable venue?

We are a crowd of mums (some with toddlers and others who come along child free whilst kids are in school) and we meet for coffee / lunch and a gossip from 10.30 on the First Tuesday of each month. New faces always welcome!

Some possibilities:

There is a playground and kiosk the Queenscliff end of Manly beach

There is a playground at the southern end of the lagoon at Narrabeen and we could wander up to one of the lakeside cafes for lunch

There is a good playground virtually on the beach at Collaroy so we could meet there and then move on to "The Deck" for lunch

Opinions please. . . .

Of course, if the weather is not particularly kind we will have to revert to one of the safer options like one of the garden centres at Terrey Hills.

Look forward to meeting you Sarah. . . .The October meet should be "lively" as it will be school hols!

By the way, the playground at Narrabeen is located next to the Tramway Community Centre on Pittwater Road - easy for parking too.

I vote for Collaroy - the playground there is lovely and I have yet to try the Deck but looking at their website the views are pretty amazing. There are plenty of cafes across the road that we can get takeaway coffees from to start off with and there's plenty of parking.

I have been spending a small fortune recently, so I think my preference would be for the cheaper kiosk....... but I'm not overly-fussed.

Hi, have been watching for this meet as haven't been able to get to any since I spotted the FTC posts, and some meets have been a bit far for me. Have been here a while (18 months) but always on the lookout for new pals - especially ones with similar experiences. We're in Frenchs Forest so any of the suggestions sound good. - 2 children both at school, cheers C.

I won't be able to be there (unless my children are off school due to the proposed teachers strike), hope you all have a good time wherever you choose.

hi my wife selfishly votes for narrabeen! the park at the southern end of the lake / lagoon has just reopened with new sun shades and there is a great cafe on the lake next to the kayak shop.

I'm up for any of them, but didn't we unsuccessfully try The Deck once before? Can't remember why it was closed, is it one of those that doesn't open every day?

I think we were just too early - it didn't open until lunchtime and we met earlier. Cafe by lake in Narabeen sounds nice too as long as someone can give me a proper address for the sat nav or clear directions :)

Happy to go with the majority.

Out of interest - how much of a risk is there that I will need to take spare clothes for my son at Narrabeen? Thinking water........?
