Maybe that's because they all run away when they see you coming

Australia has no more or less pretty girls than any other country in the world. Having said that they dont age well obviously.

Well. Time to get out the popcorn for that last comment. This could be entertaining. Where is Spouse of Scouse?

Really? For the last 30 years we've been warned to stay out of the sun - genetics plays a large part in how you will age - I think you're again talking about the Logan Bogans you hung with.

To be fair, skin does not do well in the aussie sun, you really do notice how much older aussies look when you go overseas, very noticeable compared to Americans and Canadians for eg.

The sporty/ surf club kids often have deep wrinkles round the eyes by 17, quite serious about that, many kids by grade 12 have deep sun damage. Primary school hats compulsory, by high school not one kid would wear a hat or sunnies when leaving at 1pm mid day.

Funnily enough Aussie health experts these days are worried about Vitamin D deficiencies because the average Aussie blocks too much sun out because of the skin cancer fears. I wonder what the average Aussie will look like in years to come.

Exactly, it should hardly have been news to anyone really as it is common knowledge. We had friends the same age as my wife and they all looked noticeably older. Its just the way it is, if you live in that sort of climate expect sun damage, its inevitable.

May be so. How would you compare other southern hemisphere cultures though e.g. South Africans, Brasilians etc...?

Just curious, as Saffas are generally sun worshippers. I was amazed at how Lilly white most Ozzies were, when I arrived here, and still am.
