Barnacles Cafe @ Tin Can Bay have a regular dolphin feeding session. Each morning between 7 & 8am they hand feed a couple of wild dolphins. They have names for them Mystique & Scarry were the old ones though there are a few regular visiting ones. It's a pain in the arse when the trippers are standing all over the boat ramp as your trying to launch your boat, I've nearly cleaned a few up just recently. There are lines marked now so the tourists know where they shouldn't be
If you go and happen to see a grumpy old bloke in a 6m Quintrex aiming for wayward trippers You'll know it's me

The absolute best place to really swim with dolphins is Kaikoura on the NZ South Island (sorry I know its not Qld). Its out in the open ocean, sure the water is cold but they give you a wetsuit.

I've swum with dolphins on quite a few occasions, merely by visiting my beach and going surfing . Didn't cost me a cent, either.
