Hi everybody,
First timeto post in the barbie forum Just got our visas and we plan to head to Brisbane. Been looking at the Braken Ridge surburb and wondering if anyone knows about it or lives there. Is it far from the Mater Hospital or the CBD for that matter? How is the commute? Any responses will b appreciated.

Commute to Mater during peak hour would be approx 50mins to 1 hour. Outside of that it would be more like 40 mins.

As for it as a suburb, not really sure, I only ever just pass through it and don't know anyone who lives there. It certainly doesn't have a bad name at least.

We have a friend there who really likes it . It looks good to us but the state schools there look like rubbish in the myschool site. A shame as the rentals there look quite good.

Live in the next suburb and have from and bracken Ridge State School in prep and have been impressed with it.

Suburb has a lot of newish houses at reasonable rents. Near to Sandgate for the beach and decent train links close by.
However, if you know you are going to be at the MAter then there are many more easier commutable suburbs.
