Superannuation to 401k transfer
So many of you have been helpful with all my questions. Hopefully some of you have had some experience with this topic too.
Do any of you know if it is possible to transfer funds from my 401k (US Superannuation) to my Australian Superannuation and vice versa without penalty?
Please advise.
Thanks!

Re: Superannuation to 401k transfer
If you're PR then you won't be able to transfer your super out of Aus. If you're temp resident then you can cash in the super when you leave.
Don't know about transfering 401K.

Re: Superannuation to 401k transfer
I doubt if you would be able to transfer from 401k to super. If you want to get the money out of the US you would most likely have to do a withdrawal and pay the penalty. You may be best leaving it there until you are 59.5. Alternative would be to do a 72t withdrawal if you need the money and don't want the penalty.
