Sunmaid raisins
We live in melbourne and have been here 6 months and my 3 year old misses sunmaid raisins. Does anyone know where I can buy them? Thanks. We have tried the sultanas but they are not the same.

Thank you for your replies. We will email sunmaid. We have tried sunbeam from woolies, but they don't taste like sunmaid. We think sunmaid are the best raisins in the world and veggie oil free, so they do not have that greasy taste that some dried fruit have. We don't miss much about the UK but we do miss sunmaid raisins.

Sunbeam's raisins do seem to be less tasty these last few years. One used to be able to readily buy raisins still in bunches which were quite nice.
I suspect they are just not as popular now that fresh grapes are available and affordable in most places at most times of the year. Also people don't bake as much these days.

just to let you all know. Have just had long awaited reply off sunmaid. Costco stock them I am told. Have not been yet but rung them this morning and got a positive reply. We are hopefully going to go this weekend.

You are a very nice Mum. That's some dedication finding an exact same brand.
My 4 year old had to switch to sultanas and lump it! I just told her they are nicer than the ones she used to have. She doesn't seem unduly bothered....

I have years of teaching under my belt, where I have perfected the art of dressing things up so that they seem ok. Use the same ideas with my kids.......
Currently trying to do it for immunisations next week but am meeting more resistance. The promise of watching their grandad inject himself with his medication so they can see it doesn't hurt him is starting to bring them round......that and the choice of lollies after!!

You would not believe howw many raisins we can eat. The others are just pretenders to the throne. I hate the vegie oil.
