Student visas

Hi there, I got my two older kids here on student visas, so they applied off shore, i arranged the courses at this end.
Can you apply for a student visa on-shore. This is for a friend.

It seems like you can. Here is the relevant page http://www.immi.gov.au/study/applying/index.htm

I haven't read it so not sure of the requirements etc.

as long as they're UK citizens it's fine.

they can apply online and will just have to get a medical done at the nearest HSA (Health Services Australia). Take the medical (+ chest x-ray) to the nearest DIMIA office and it's sorted...

we actually got our visa the day we took our medicals in... visas had been granted before medicals even sighted!
