Default Student visa ????

Hello everyone, everywhere.
I've been on this site loads of times but never been brave enough to put out a question!!
Why isn't anyone else trying for a student visa for Oz?
I am married with kids, am 31 and although i have been a gardener for eight years i haven't had any books for the last three years. My husband has only just become a tree surgeon so he hasn't three years experience, so we thought...student visa.
George Lombard has been great and answered alot of my questions(thankyou).
Does anyone else have any knowledge of student visas. How long they take or if this is a good road to go down.
All answers appreciated.
Rowlie

Hi Rowlie, its comforting to hear we're not the only ones battling through this minefield. It seems the only option available to my partner and I is a student visa too. We are currently trying to research all the pros and cons, and find suitable courses. George has been helpful to us too, for which we are truly grateful. We too want to make sure this is a safe path to tread because it requires a lot of planning and investment, and to sell up and relocate with 2 kids in tow it would be more than helpful to know PR is guaranteed at the end of it all!
If anyone else has any info to chuck in the pot, I would be grateful too!

Hi

My daughter is out in freo on a student visa and loving it.
Firstly find a course be it uni or tafe you need to get Certificate of offer Education I think it is well its a COE that proves you have been accepted for the course. Have enough money to pay fees for course, insurance and living. Visa people will ask you to prove funding in our case we had to show $80,000 for her but others on this site have had to show less. Try a search for 'student visa please help' it was running a thread at the beginning of this month. You cannot apply for the visa more than 12 weeks before you leave for your course.
