hi woody

my husband had to do a stat dec for his work experience and had to have it signed by a solicitor and repeat all the words after him.
As the solicitor was a friend we thought he was p***ing about but he was deadly serious.

i think they usually charge £10 or so for the privalige but we just gave him a bottle of wine ( ozzy wine of course).

good luck with it all

Hi Woody

I recently had a stat dec done for my first employer. The manager no longer works for the company.

I prepared the document and had my old manager sign it in front of a solicitor.

He charged me a fiver per copy. He was the cheapest I could find. One solicitor wanted £60.

There is a standard format that you can view on the DIMIA website.

Here's a blank Stat Dec that I've posted a couple of times before.

Just fill out the blanks and get a solicitor to witness it.

Hi Steve,

Do they have to be in that format, or something close to it?

If so, we are in deep dodo.

Mark.

Hi Mark,

The one that I've posted is a copy of the Stat Dec that was sent to us by our agent. I've converted it into a 'Word Document' so you can add the bits yourself.

All I can say is, it worked for us.

Good luck,

Steve.

Since being in Australia, i have needed to get several stat decs done. Our local JP is happy to do pages and pages of them and has never charged a penny for any of it. You also need not worry about what format it is in. I have not used offical forms and just put things in my own writing and it has been acceptable to the JP.

Hi Steve,

I did not realise that it was a word doc, that will be useful, many thanks for that.
