Structural engineering opportunities

Hiya,

Just wondering where the work is for a structural engineer (residential & commercial buildings) with 13 yrs experience. We were looking at Adelaide, but been told markets flat is it the same country wide??
We have two small children so can't uproot & be jobless for months :( hoping there might be a way to gain employer sponsorship before leaving.

Thanks for any help!

Do you have a visa?

No. Was just about to put in Expression of interest. Just a bit worried regarding the state of the industry after the feedback regarding layoffs, no new hires and the market being flat in Adelaide. So just after some advice.

If you had a visa, it is valid for 5 years from time of issue (as long as it is validated) so you would have time to look. I see work going on around Adelaide but no idea what's in the pipeline for building works. It is an expensive process though.

I'll move this over to the main forum where it'll get more views as it isn't a visa question as such - but it is the middle of the night here so you might need to wait until later for answers :)
