Stop over - Where do you recommend?
Hi everyone,
We just got our VISAS !!!!!!!, and would just like to ask where do you recommend a good stop over, we are looking at maybe a few days somewhere in between flights as we have a 7 yr old and 2 yr old, we feel we need a bit of a break in order to get ourselves together before the final leg. We were thinking Japan, Kuala Lumpar maybe any ideas?? Cheers :) Sadie |

Nothing wrong with Singers I reckon :) .
Inexpensive, polite, warm, not too polluted, efficient, interesting colonial legacy - Raffles etc |

We finally get back to Brisbane permanently on Friday and are looking for a house in Cleveland/Vic Point/Wellington Point area, bayside anyway. Good luck with your choice of stopover. |

Cheers :) Sadie I would say that Hong Kong has the edge slightly - ISTR that, aged about 7, he loved going from Hong Kong up into China on the jetfoil, meeting children in a school in Gaungzhou (Canton) & climbing right up to the top of the pagoda. He also loved Raffles Hotel in Singapore - especially having a drink (a special non-alcho cocktail that the kindly barman mixed for him) in the room where it was reputed a tiger came & sat under the table while the guys were playing snooker! (But that was the 'old' Raffles - before they smartened it up. IMO the old tatty one was much more atmospheric.) I think I would avoid Tokyo, as it's very expensive and may be a bit less child-friendly, too, in terms of things to do/see. Lovely people, though. Good luck with the stop-over! Anya. |

Re: Stop over - Where do you recommend?
Hi
Im just looking at booking my flights and had thought about a stop over. Travel bag suggested 3 nights in lang kawi (not sure if i spelt it right) but as i am pregnant and have 2 kids age 3 and 7 didnt want to be subjected to vaccinations. Do you need them for hong kong, malaysia and singapore? Sorry if this has been asked before but I need to start booking asap and would appreciate some help. Irene |

Here's a link with some info for you http://www.ourbrisbane.com/living/suburbs/kenmore/home/ . But it still may be a good spot to settle if thats your bag and prepare to travel to work, much like most people do anyway :) |
Re: Stop over - Where do you recommend?
Singapore - definately. Clean, safe and lots of amazing things to do and see as a family. Singapore Airlines are great to travel with if you have young children and they often have free stopover deals - check out www.singaporeair.com.
