The biggest I've ever seen was in Derby. We put it in a bucket and its front legs hung over the top! It was gorgeous, a pale green, with pink and yellow on its underwings, as we saw when it flew away. The kids thought it was a baby dragon!

In England stick insects used to eat privet so wouldn't know what to feed one in Aus...LOL. My son is desperate for a pet but don't want one as want freedom of weekends away so just let all the insects roam around outside the house.
