Stem Cell question
 

Hi

Anyone looked into umbilical stem cell storage in QLD - any recommedations etc?

Figure there are quite a few meds in the hoose..might be able to give me steer.

The thread was asking about cord blood storage in Sydney, but there are some useful links for private companies who deal with this.

we did it.. although we did it in London.
now in Bris, cord blood is still in the UK.

From memory there was an Org in Canberra which was able to arrange something, although like the UK you (personally) will have to arrange the kit, draw the blood, etc
You never know when you might need all the help you can get, although application of the tech is still in it's infancy.

Ask your Obstetrician, they will give you any information and organise the paperwork for cord blood storage etc. My youngest needed some genetic testing done which was done with cord blood, then there wasn't enough left to store. My doctor organised everything for me before the birth.
