Stay at home mums sydney?
Hi all,
this is my first post so apologies if I get anything a little wrong!
anyway - we are hoping to get our 457 in the next fews weeks or so, the employer is currently lodging their part and my husband has lodged ours - so just waiting for case workers...
just wondering if there were any stay at home mums in sydney (probably around mascot) who might be interested in meeting up?
thanks

Not many places to meet either - Mascot isn't known for its burgeoning cafe culture...

From Mascot? Don't forget the evil $7 station access fee :-(
OP - i don't know much about mothers groups, but Mascot really is a bit of a shoddy suburb in terms of stuff going on. If its not too late you may want to look a little closer to the city...

thanks everyone for your messages - sorry for the delay been on holiday!
well - husband has now decided to announce we won't actually been living in Mascot, he will be working in Mascot and we will be living somewhere along the East Hills train line for him to get to Mascot.....
Hopefully it will be a nice residential area...... he has now mentioned Holsworthy etc but this may change.....
Thanks again!

Cool...just keep away from Bankstown. Mascot is easy to get to by train and Sydneysiders do a lot of commuting so make sure you look at all possibilities, people commute an hour each way regularly (some of us 1 1/2 hours!!) so pick the best family suburb for you guys to live and then work it that way. We considered Padstow initially, nothing like the Padstow in UK obviously but it is right on the train line and doesn't look too bad a suburb.
Looks like they don't charge the Station Access Fee at Mascot and Green Square any more - that's good - but it doesn't detract from the fact that these are both pretty desolate suburbs...

Although Green Square has aspirations to be so!!! Lots of billboards with happy asian faces on it loving their new high rise life!!

Now that they have killed the gate fee, it may start to attract commuters, but before that it was too expensive - something like $7 a day just to use the station, plus the cost of the ticket made it astronomical to commute from there.
Green Square is not quite as bad as Mascot, and some of those little suburbs there like Beaconsfield are quite nice. Not much there in terms of decent bars and restaurants though - I think you would either have to travel or make your own entertainment.
