Default Stat Decs/ JP's

My grand fathers brother is a JP! Would it be okay for him to sign declaration forms for me? Or would you recommend non family members.

PS He has a different surname to me.

I know a JP who is willing to certify our docs but doesn't have a stamp. Should I pay a solicitor to get the stamp or is my JP friend ok?!

A stamp is not compulsory. I had some documents certified by our bank manager (did not have a stamp), and they were accepted.
