Starting out!!! Need advice

We are in the first throws of looking to move to Australia, application for visa and jobs are in place, can anybody give us a rough guide to how much it will cost in total (2 dogs to go too and we estimate a 20ft container........) and what we are likely to expect timewise?

Costings depend on whether you use an agent to go or not..

Here is a rough idea...

Agents Fee £ 1500
Skills app £ 150
VISA £ 900
Medicals £500 for 2 kids 2 adults.

Container 20ft £ 4000 - £ 5000

Dont know about dogs sorry !!

Timelines are about 2 months for skill processing...

6 - 12 months for VISA processing...

You need to be a little more specific on the VISA you are applying for as well..

But I would say 1 year and £9000 inc flights could get you there !!

As I said all a rough estimate !

Thanks Nick - we thought about 12k - we both work for the ambulance service which are recruiting from the uk so we are not using an agent - just need to sort the dogs out now!!!!!

Should get a 20ft container for £3200+ if you shop around. £4000-$5000 is expencive, in my humble opinion.

Depends on size of dog, all the pet shipping companies will give you quotes and all the spec on jabs etc.

And dont forget if the dogs need there jabs before you go, make sure that they dont have lepto - otherwise it will be a no go!

Good Luck
