the stamford in Singapore
Hi,
We are going home for Christmas and are stopping off in Singapore.
We are looking at stopping at the Stamford for 3 nights to do our Christmas shopping.
Anyone been or know anything about it, all comments are welcome
Thanks

One heck of a view from the bar on the 73rd floor. Drink prices are almost as high. During happy hour, a tiger beer is $6 a glass, and coke $12 a glass!

Carriane:
Stayed there many times over the years. The hotel used to be the Westin Plaza (one tower) and the Westin Stamford (the other) The pool is common.
The rooms are a very high quality: quiet and clean.
There are three floors of shopping below and between the towers, and a small supermarket in the basement for the teabags and milk!
Kids will enjoy the fountain in the mall - one of those that squirts blobs of water to music.
Raffles is just across the road: excellent curry buffet every evening in the tiffin room, the long bar and a couple of caffs.
The MRT station is just outside which gives underground access all over the city. Computer shopping mall a couple of blocks away.
There's a minibus shuttle from the airport to city hotels, but the cost of two tickets is only a buck or two less than a taxi and you don't have to wait for a taxi!
Have a nice trip.
PS If you haven't booked already try Planetholiday.com - they have really good discounts all over Asia.
