Default Spouse Visa

Hi All,
Me and my family are looking into moving to OZ next year. My wife and her daughter will be hopefully coming in on the Spouse visa.
Does anybody know, if you ever get turned down for the visa. (No Criminal History, but had Cancer 2 years ago, no reoccurance)

Thanks in advance
Glenn

Im going on the spouse VISA.

I have never heard of anyone being turned down, but i am sure it must happen.....I should imagine that you would be fine.

Don't worry about the cancer history. They are basically trying to rule out people who would be a burdon upon the state, and seeing as you have had no reoccurance recently it should'nt really be a problem.

No way of knowing for sure though until you get it all posted off !

Good luck.

And DO send off as much stuff as possible. There have been a few people on here who had'nt proveided enough info, and had to send more off which delayed the process.

Cheers

Pete.

Hi Glenn and family,

I'm going on the Prospective Spouse, from the UK - I assume you are going from here as well? Like Pete, I've not heard of anyone being turned down on any of the partner visa categories, and actually being married must count for quite a lot - most of the people who have problems are going as De Facto partners, though they get through in the end.
I'll echo what he said - send as much stuff as possible as proof; as for the medical situation - it might be an idea to get some stuff from the specialist who treated you? They will ask about your cancer on the medical form, and I'm fairly sure you will need specialist reports of some sort. You may be able to pre-empt part of this by having reports already to say that there has been no recurrence.

Good luck!

Thanks for the reply Pollyanna,

Good luck to you both for the future. It was my wife with the cancer, but she is now alot better.

Where are you both heading. We are looking at Geelong / Melbourne if all goes to plan

Glenn

My inlaws live there, and my wife lived there for a few years as a kiddy.

I loved the place, but i think we would have problems getting work as its pretty small. Don't think Susan would want to live there anyway !!

I dunno.....offer to live in the same town as the inlaws and i get turned down

Hi Glenn,
I'm off to Brissie in 3 weeks time - sounds really scary when I say it like that! My fiance is an Aussie & has a place out there, so I'm one of the few who doesn't have to worry about stuff like a house. Just a small problem of getting a job!

Pete - thats very brave of you offering to live in the same place as the mother-in-law! Mine is very pleasant, but I'm not sure I could cope with being closer than the 3 hour drive! I'm sure she thinks I won't look after her son properly!
