Spousal visa - how long ?
 

Sorry if this is a bit vague but it seems to me to be a pretty straightforward inquiry.

About 7 years ago my son married an Aussie girl in UK and they moved to OZ nearly 3 years ago.

It's been 2.5 years now since he applied for a full residence visa but he's still heard nothing and going online all he gets is 'in progress' or something similar and a case of 'don't call us we'll call you' so nobody to even ask about it.

The basic question is should it really take this long and if not what, if anything, can he do to get it moving along ?

If you mean when already in country then yes.

They are taking that long at the moment and there’s nothing to do about it. Effectively your son is in a queue and he’ll have to wait his turn.
