sponsorship - is it easy?
 

Not sure if we are going about things the rigt way or not?! We cannot apply for immigration as neither myself or my partner have one of the shortage skills.

I am a dental nurse and when we visited Australia for a year I managed to get work within a day several times - there must be a call for dental nuursing?! My partner is a service manager for Ford.
We are starting to send our CVs etc to companies to see if they will offer us employment in order to get a visa and get back.

Is this us just wasting time? Any advice of what we would should do? We really want to go back to Australia......

I HEAR U and i am looking to do the same thing but i am not doing it yet cos i am saving up. I am purchase ledger clerk and i am working at a bar on weekends. I have a I.T QUALIFICATION and am on about looking to get another.

Hi,

I came over on PR with an employer sponsored visa. One aspect you might need to consider is that the employer has to prove (from my limited knowledge) that nobody in the local area of Australia was qualified for the job in question so they had to look overseas instead. For example, they have to advertise in Australian newspapers first. There are other restrictions as well so you might want to consult a migration specialist if you're serious about wanting to take this route. If you were able to get sponsorship then the application procedure would be quite easy and quick (about 3 months).

I was lucky that my job is very specialist so the employer had no choice but to look overseas but you'd have to ask yourself whether this applied to yourselves.

Anyway, can't you apply whether or not you are on the shortage skills list? I'm not on the list either but would still have been eligible to apply for skilled independent if I hadn't got the employer sponsored.

Dental Technician is on the SOL as a 60 pointer and Dental Hygienist is a 40 pointer ... I would need to know more about your qualifications and work experience before advising further ...

Just arrived - I will look into the skilled independent applications. Take it this will be on the dima and immi.gov websites? Thanks and hope you are enjoying Australia you lucky thing! First morning I have had to scrape the ice of my car!!
