Sponsored Visa Time Frame + property question

The company I work for here in the UK offers sponsorship to emigrate to Australia and work for a few years.

For those on here who have gone out to Australia on a sponsored visa what time frame were you given to leave the UK and emigrate to Australia?

Did you rent or sell your UK property?

I suspect you'll need to be a bit more specific - which visa?

Firstly, which visa are they sponsoring you for? There are both temporary (like 482) and permanent sponsored visas.. If its only for a few years that sounds like a 482 but please check.
Every visa is different for timelines. Depends on the visa subclass, how in demand the skill is, whether the company s already approved as a sponsor, how quickly they submit everything - how quickly YOU submit your side of the paperwork. Medicals and police checks if needed (depending on the visa). Possibly skills assessments and English tests. It may take only few weeks, but could be months.
How long you then have to move, if you are actually being sponsored by a specific company would then be up to you and the company to work out. They will probably want you fairly quickly so its a discussion you would need to have with the employer.

What to do with your property? Again many considerations, but most people with property seem to say that it ts a temporary visa, and thus you are likely to be coming home again, don't sell it, rent it, or risk not getting back on the housing ladder here. However, life in Australia is now incredibly expensive and either renting or buying there is a nightmare price-wise, so it depends how you intend to live once you're there!

Hopefully a few thoughts there to start you off.........
