Hi there,
Sorry to hear that your mum isn't well and hope she gets better soon. I sadly can't help you with your query but I actually have one in return for you. As an Aussie, did you have to go for an interview as your husbands sponsor and if so what did it entail. My partner is sponsoring me and we're wondering about the interview thing that others have mentioned and whether its visa dependent.
Thanks and good luck with finding the answer to your question.

First off, no you don't have to go with him for him to validate. My hubby sponsored me and I validated on my own.
Secondly, if you are a Brit being sponsored by your Aussie spouse, you are very unlikely to have an interview, neither is your spouse. It seems to be mainly for other nationalities. I don't know of any Aussie spouses or Brit ones having an interview unless they are living in another country where the rules can be slightly different.

If you apply onshore for a spouse visa, then yes you will be interviewed even if you are from the UK This is the case for Melbourne (and I think Sydney) anyway.
It was no big deal in our case and we weren't even interviewed seperately unlike the other people being interviewed at the same time as us :scared:

Yes sorry, was talking from an "applying for a spouse visa from the UK" point of view
