Rush them to hospital.
From what Ive read regarding bites, not many (if any!) have died from a spider bite since the anti-venom was introduced.

Depends on the spider. Only the funnel web is a serious danger, unless you are either particularly young or old or have other medical problems. Even the redback bite doesnt get special treatment unless you are in a particular risk group.
It's the snakes that are more deadly.

PS got a huntsmen in the car the other day.... that was fun!
