Default Speech & Learning Difficulties

Just wondering if anyone can help us out. Our friends have a child with speech and language difficulties. Could they be refused a visa if she is deemed to require extra help at school in Australia? She does have a support assistant at the moment, but their family doctor doesnt seem to think they should have any problems. We know Australia aren't keen on anyone they think will drain their resources!

Has anyone come across this situation before? Their medicals are due soon.
