Default Special Needs Children

My self and family are thinking of relocating to Oz, only problem we have is that we have heard that it is near impossible to move over there has our daughter has Special Needs, Our daughter is 8 years old and has Downs Syndrome, she doesnt require any treatment apart from Speach and Language, which i would presume other children also require, any help or information recieved on this matter would be gratefully recieved. Thanks

I am by no means an expert and there is bound to be someone to correct me, but I don't think it should be impossible to move with your daughter. She only has Downs and is not costing the government any money (sorry if that sounds harsh, it's not meant like that) which is what Australia is interested in. So long as she is fit and healthy I can't see any problem.

Like I say though, I am no authority on this. Have you tried posting this on the immigration forum as well? There are agents who look in on there and I know that there is one who specialises in applications for people with health conditions. Don't know what he is like but I think I have his details as I am considering contacting him about my son-in-law if my daughter decides she wants to follow us out.

Best of luck and let us know how you get on.
