We took the little uns to Southbank yesterday and had the most enjoyable day since we have arrived, great fun for the big kids too ;)

If you are looking for something to do and can't be arsed with the coast try it, you will not be dissapointed.

Have to agree its fab! While we were sorting medicals etc we were there three times a week as you can park for $8 a day! Have watched open air films there, the energex contemporary art comp presentations, strolled through the arts and crafts markets, watched adverts being filmed etc etc We now take the boys there once a week. The museum is free and for a family of 5 its just $4 for a bus ride into the city centre! Food arbour is cheap and one evening we were there till 11pm as there was still things going on! Fab fab FAB!

It cost us $12 for the day yesterday in the underground car park off Stanley street where you are within a couple of minutes walk of the "beach" at southbank. Took a few pics too but won't post them here for fear of being called a Burberry wearing chav etc etc.

Did you pay at the kiosk/machine on way out? If so, don't! On your way, carry on driving down to level 2 and there'll be a person there with stop sign. You can buy an all day car park pass from them for $8! We use it all the time now, plus you're right under streets beach again.

We did pay at the kiosk on the way out, but next time we go in 2 weeks we will save ourselves $4 by using your tip, thanks.

Wow that looks fantastic. When I come over I'm hoping to rent somewhere in West End/Highgate Hill and I think that's very close to Southbank, at least it looks close on the map. Know anything about those areas?
