Hi Kaydave, we have just jumped on the migration bandwagon, just submitted to TRA, but we have a very young family (3 children under 5!), and we too are hoping to settle in Brisbane (when we get visa !), and would like to be in touch with others with families (and without!) who are migrating to Brisbane, or are already there

When are you looking to leave???

We are hoping to move to Brisbane July/August time.
We have two daughters (11 and 8) and are hopng to go to
the Bayside area of Brisbane (that's the area from Wynnum
down to Cleveland/Victoria Point).

It would be nice to know that others are going out at the same
time. One of my worries is that once the kids have started
school and Steve (my husband) has started work, I'll be stuck
at home not knowing anyone

So any excuse to meet up with others (and any excuse not to
clean/unpack etc) would be great.

From the map Buderim is on the Sunshine Coast and
well over one hour from Brisbane City, so unfortunately
thats out for us as my husband doesn't want to commute
that long.

As Katherine says Wellington Point looks nice and thats
about 36 minutes from Brisbane CBD, so is just within my
husband's limits and its by the coast for the important sea
breezes.

Default brissie

We will be going to brissie, have now decided on sept 2005, no rush for us, we have validated visa's and have already bought our land (2 acres) Jimboomba.
Hope to go to a meet up when we get there, sounds like fun.
We have room at our place for a meet-up BBQ. (Will try and arrange something when we get there)
We have a son who is nearly 4 and a daughter 1 year old.
Hoping to get there for just before start of school for son.

Jayden & Caitlin.

Hiya - we've submitted Stu's skills assessment to TRA, and the agent (excellent, can highly recommend him) is aiming to lodge our application on 21 April (Stu is 35 on 25th April, and we will lose 5 points, so hoping TRA have finished by then). Which visa are you going to go out on?, we're ging for the Skilled Independant, Stu is a chippie - we've been told the visa could be as quick as 9 months from next month, but who knows.

I know I will be really nervous once the application is in, dragging 3 young kids away from everything they are familiar with - but I am sure it will be worth it in the end
