Hello
Never been to a meet but would love to come and meet people in the same boat! Does everyone already know each other so new people feel a bit like sad billy no mates would hate to turn up and feel like a lemon ,
anyway it would be me hubby and 3 kids.
Sorry for sounding paranoid!
Cheers Kris

Everyone is more than welcome, despite rumours (elsewhere) that this is a clique.
I went to the last Central London meet and everyone was new to me. Some folks were clearly nervous to be there, but I hope we made them feel welcome, as I think these things should be all inclusive.
I look forward to meeting you!

I've only been to two expats meetings, and I've felt that they don't go on long enough. You never get enough time to chat with everybody.
Even the shyest person wouldn't feel uncomfortable, so don't worry at all. My husband will talk for England as I'm sure those that have met him will agree. You'll be fine. Look forward to meeting you!

Oh no! I have a full car, I`m sure that we`ll sort something out between all of us
I will ring the pub and make sure that it dont get to busy and see if I can save a few tables.
I think it would be a good idea to start a new post off see if we can get a few more to come along

Re: South East or London meet?
Just phoned pub, they dont take bookings and wont put some tables aside for us...he said that they can get busy when the hop farm has events on.
They open at 11o/c maybe it would be best to bring the meet time forward 1hr so we can park and sort the tables out?
Heres the address

Hi All
Have been following this thread with interest and mirth at how complicated it can get to organise a meet
Juts thought I'd help out by posting a link to the new thread Sue has started
http://britishexpats.com/forum/showthread.php?t=306652
Would love to join you but am doing a 10K run around London that morning for my sins so was secretly hoping you could pull the London thing off.
Next time maybe, have fun
Paul

Re: South East or London meet?
Hi JohnAnd Netta,
Thanks for all your hard work! We will be there. No kids! Looking forward to it. [
QUOTE=JohnAndNetta]Just thought I'd post a list of all the people that showed an interest in a South East / London meet. Would be great if you could now confirm whether you can make it and if so how many will be coming in total and whether you are bringing kids, and roughly what time you can expect to arrive (so we can stretch ourselves across the right number of seats without cheesing too many people off!).
One things for sure...when I arrange a meet once we get to Brisbane (Sept 9th) it WILL be child friendly, and you WON'T have to eat if you don't want to, and you WILL be able to get there easily, and there WILL be parking! Oh and to top it all - the sun WILL be shining!
JohnAndNetta - thats us - just 2 - no kids

P.S Wonder if its worth starting a new thread for the same meet - if someone new jumps on board they'll get fed up reading the thread and give up halfway through!!!! I suppose I'd better mention it on the "australian and new zealand immigration forum". I'm sure we'll get some takers there, but I'll make sure we can make it here first. Sue - where are you? Are you Kent country bumpkins ok with Kew? Can the horse and carriage make it that far? [/QUOTE]
