Hi,
How long does it take to walk from the South Bank area to the Mater Hospital? Also, what other nice areas are within a 10 minute walk of the Mater.
Any info gratefully received.

There's not really anywhere else "nice" within 10 minute walk, West End would be 25 minutes. If you are thinking of "where could I go in lunch break" then South Bank would be ideal.
There is a busway at Mater which will get you into the CBD quickly

I work at the Mater and south bank is THE only nice place within 10 mins.
