South Australia Exhibition
Hi all.
Did anyone else go to the expo over the weekend at Earl's Court?
It was well worth it as we got to speak to a lady who is after nurses, doctors and paramedics to sponser!!!!
We were going on skilled worker visa(if we ever get through the process) but she said sponsership is faster.
Fingers crossed!!!

I didn't go, but thought about it and then forgot about it. Can you tell me more about the lady wanting to sponsor nurses please? Are you a nurse yourself lady?

Then we were told about a group at the exhibition that were looking to recruit and decided to go down.
To be honest I didn't realise I could go down the sponsership route and as my hubby is a paramedic our main worry was that he wouldn't be able to join the amb service over there.
Apparently in South Australia they need at least 20 paramedics too and they said sponsership was much quicker (although you are tied to SA for at least 2 years). This is no problem for us as we plan to go to Adelaide anyway!
I'll PM you with the Peoples e'mail when they contact me - -should be sometime this week---when they return to Oz.
Speak soon.

Thank you Rach. I realised after that you probably were a nurse from your username.....traded lamp for torch! I'm a bit slow tonight I'm afraid. Good luck with your skills assessment, I am just getting stuff together for mine, hoping to go to Brisbane, but won't be til early 2007 I expect.
Look forward to hearing from you

I can't really go any sooner Rach, I've a university course to finish first
although its distance learning and I could continue it from Oz, but once i'm out there I don't really want any more studying....I just want to relax a bit and have some fun and me time! (although the me time will be tricky with the 2 kiddies!)

Re: South Australia Exhibition
Yes Rach I'm a nurse. My kids are 9 and 4, they have just come back from a week away at mother in laws. Only back 5 minutes and all chaos breaks out (what joy!).
I'm doing a masters, and hoping to finish it next year but its so much work. I only decided to do it because I was being funded and my friend was doing the same course. She said it would be easier us doing it together (famous last words) I coud kill her for that!

Know what you mean .
I very nearly started my degree but glad I didn't now as this Australia thingy really takes over!
My heart is not really in my work at the moment and I really resent the intrusion into the preparations that work provides!!!!
Don't get me wrong - -I love being an A&E Nurse - - I just want to be one in OZ!!!

Re: South Australia Exhibition
we also very stupidly thought that doing extra studying we would be rewarded under agenda for change...well how wrong were we?
If you felt like it Rach you could always look to do your degree in OZ.
How come you are up so late? I'm gonna have to go to bed in a mo or I won't be able to get the kids up for school. I'm still up cos this flippin site is so addictive!
