Sos!! Calling All Femail Expats In Sydney!!!

Hi everybody, this is a bit of an SOS, we have been in Sydney for nearly 3 months now, hubby, me and 2 kids, and I have been going around all week with my chin on the floor suffering from extreme homesickness :( .

This is where all the Sydney expat girls come in. I really think what I need right now is some girly drinking 'time out' , and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Don't we all miss our drinking buddys back home and wish we could just call round and crack open a bottle of wine and have a good old goss'/winge etc ........ or is it just me????

So anybody up for a good old girls night out? Only two conditions: No Kids and No Men

3 yrs in and I think the chat with mates is what I miss the most and I still get the odd bout of homesickness so my thoughts are with you - Count me in.

[Hi Wheezy

I'm up for it. Missed the Sydney meet last week due to 'unforseen circumstances'. I feel really homesick as well just now and would love a wee girls only night out.

Wow, I can feel my spirits lifted already (and thats not just the gin bottle!!!)

I think a Friday night is best, (hopefully we can then all get a lie in and nurse our hangovers the following am) As for a venue, the city is probably the best and easiest place for everybody to get to, but as I have not (YET!!) had the opportunity to sample Sydney's finest drinking establishments, (no babysitters  )any suggestions very much appreciated ....

Does anybody know what The Arthouse on Pitt Street is like, looks very interesting from the outside :o

P.S. Mrs Soapy are you coming out to play???

Arthouse is cool. Gets very very busy though, I tend to use it as a weekday watering hole - but if we got there early we might be able to grab a corner...

Could you be convinced that somewhere in Darling Harbour would be the place to head? (Not that it's close to me and makes stumbling home easier or anything! ;) :D )

Currently sitting in the office in Central CBD and my mate is laughing about finding a decent bar for a chat on a friday near to transport, she states they will all be buzzing so we either need to get there early and someone hold a few seats or stand around and shout at each other :)

Obviously I would find in very easy to put in for the meeting earlier scenario say about 4.00 - any excuse, wish it was tonight Hubby is off driving kids to scout meetings so I get to wend my way home after working late sober and alone :(

Darling Harbour is an easy enough work from Town Hall though isn't it? For those coming in on train or for those who want a thrill ride first or who come from the other end of George street we could meet at Circular Quay and get a water taxi round!

I vote for somewhere that serves Guinness :D

Great to here from you again Sandra, and that you are up for a girly night out. Any suggestions on venue? I think Darling Harbour would be a good idea, we could pick a nice restaurant, book a table and have plenty of bars to move onto.

Has anybody got any thoughts about dates, I know its short notice but the sooner the better for me how about the 24th June? Thats 2 weeks from now.
