Default sorry a trivial question - Ironing boards

I have been comparing prices of things I have here and things in oz. Some things are vvv expensive over there ie Dyson vacume cleaners and some things are cheaper there.

So far I have found that a large ironing board is 80 plus dollars! I was looking at online shops. This seems a heck of a lot for an ironing board. Is this right?

Hi,

Just had a look at the Argos online store and its ironing board is £34 which is more than $80. Problem I've got is that the covers here don't fit the UK boards because they're broader here. If you've got a board already and its OK then bring it. You'll have enough to sort out without searching out an ironing board.

The Bloke got one recently for about $20 (around £8) - not top of the range but he says it does the job! Crazy Clarks or somewhere like that.
(note - The Bloke does ALL the ironing round here, bless him )

I got mine from K Mart they had about four different types ranging from $20 through to £110. As with most things it's a case of shopping around - much like the UK.

I got mine in KMART for about $38 and its a pretty good one with a metal thingy that holds the wire up so it doesn't screw up your ironing. But yes there are some expensive ones too.

Thanks everyone for your posts. I appreciate it must sound like a silly question in comparision with the things we have to consider.

The Bloke here also tends to do most of the ironing as they are mostly his work shirts on the whole find most Aussie clothes come off the line wrinkle free if hung correctly.
