sorry ive done a search but.....
i can not find out if a surrond system that plays english cds will play on an oz tele...

Ye they wiil, it's just the regions changed in the unit, you'll only be able to play europe region 2 DVDs, but if you get it unlocked you can play all.
Some DVD players you can unlock via the remote - depends on the make and model. Google search it.

Well , i dunno mate . last thread that i read was yes , providing its a newish oz tv , much the same as tvs here in the UK now cope with Pal , ntsc & secam
i guess yer not taking you uk tv ? , we won't , its about had its day so we will get new when we get there but i will take my region free surround system .
of course you ideally need to make your player region free to play oz dvds ,
try here to see if you can do yours via the remote

My dvd player with surround was working great till 2 weeks ago then it pack up :curse:
But as long as its multiregion it will be fine , all electrical good will work here as same power IE 240 volts .
Just some tv's will need to work via a cheap set top freeview type box to get a picture .
