Solicitor-immediate help please....and part J
Have an appointment and just read in Booklet 6, (whilst making some final checks) that under 'terms you need to know' a certified copy is stamped.... blah blah.... by solicitor, registered medical practitioner, bank manager, postal manager, an Australian Public Service Officer with 5yrs experience or more.
My question is is it the solicitor etc that need to have 5yrs or more, or only the Public Service Officer???
Whilst reading the lovely booklet 6 regarding part J included in form 47sK, it states there are no initial charges. Does that mean that the $1,885 charge at a later date, if nominated by an employer within a 2yr period, is additional to the charge of $1,935 for the skilled indpendent?
I meet the 125 points. Will I have to pay for both? Not sure how this works, whether you are nominated only if you don't pass the mark, and they just ignore the skill matching part if you do pass??
All help gratefully received......

Hi Sunflower, you can get your documents certified by a solicitor but i don't think they have to have been practising for 5 years. I didn't ask mine that question I just got her to certify docs and stamp and sign and date them.
Are you applying for a 136 visa? if so you just pay the $1935 initial fee when you send in your application. Additional payments are for other types of visas as far as I am aware.
hope this helps

If you're in the UK, then only a solicitor or JP can certify your docs. The other occupations listed are for people who apply from within Australia.
If you're applying for a 136 (skilled independent) visa, there is only one fee $1,935, which you have to pay with your application.

Yes, thats what my solicitor thought, however she agreed that it was ambiguous. Worried though as she doesn't have the 5yrs and I may loose money and application when checked.
Any moderators out there that could shed any light on this?

Did you send an original pay slip, or a certified one?

Just re read the deifinitions. That list of persons is after 'In Australia'. God I'm sure I go blind with raised stressed levels. So I can keep my appointment after all.
