Default Sold the car, boot sale tomorrow!

When I handed my notice in the other month, it didn't really seem real that I was emigrating as I had to give three month's notice which is AGES!

Now I've started getting rid of stuff its suddenly becoming a reality. Just sold my car which is a pretty big thing to me! Loved my car!! Boot sale tomorrow and getting rid of stuff I probably wouldn't get rid of if I was staying but really can't justify shipping to Oz.

If it's this hard to say goodbye to material posessions how am I going to cope when I have to say goodbye to friends and family and get on a plane 10,000 miles away all by my little old self!!?

Thumbs up Re: Sold the car, boot sale tomorrow!

Well done for having the motivation and the courage to do this on your own mate, stay focused as they are just possesions and selling them is a necessary step along the path to your ultimate goal. Full of admiration for you mate, good luck.
Gaz.

Yea - I agree - very gutsy move. We did the car boot/declutter/charity shop/skip thing prior to putting the house on the market so all that's really left is to flog the car and ship a few personal items - but I know where you're coming from. As you said, it's just stuff

Fingers crossed to get a good day and make lots of £££s so you can buy more clutter in Oz

My mum was dragged along with me! Much bigger car Made enough to make it worthwhile but not a millionaire yet! It stikes me very strange how people are more than willing to queue up to pay £1.50 for a cup of tea from the refreshment stall but only want to pay 20p for anything else!! People will haggle over 10 pence!

We had to do all this in a hurry, but I know how you feel about getting rid of your material possessions. Strange though, now I don't miss a thing that I got rid of and I feel better than my life has been decluttered! Mind you.... seem to be managing to build up another load of junk so I will have the same problem when we finally get to go from the US to Aus!

Well done! I know what you mean about the refreshment bit...makes you think it'd be worthwhile selling your own flask of tea too!!

When I first did a car boot sale many years ago people didn't haggle half as much but they were only held a few times a year. I think now that they have become a weekly occurence they are more like a market and you will find that the person that haggled you down to 20p will then have it on their stall at 50p or something.
Know what you mean about the car. I had to sell my little Copen that I absolutely loved.
