The last thing I would want to do is rain on your parade, Rob, really hope it stays firm but please don't say sold until the money is in the bank Even with no chain things can still go pear shaped - been there, done that.

The end of March is just a blink away

We have a 10K bond, as a security so no gazzumping, pulling out, etc... quite a detailed contract that has been drawn up by our solicitors so we are 90% confident that we will exchange/complete ok in around 6 weeks

hi, sorry for being nosey but just put my house on the market and was wondering about the 10k bond. did the buyers give that to solicitor when you accepted their offer as i see you have exchanged yet? i think this ideal for those of us emigrating as we have alot more expenses and things to sort out than your usual house seller. selina.

Hi Selina,

The bond is paid to our solicitor to hold but is refundable on exchange.

Basically it gives us a bit of security for the sale to go thru without any problems
