Our boiler just pooped its pants - timely as all the rebates etc have recently ended. So we are looking for a good deal on solar hot water but want a quality system that will last too.

Just received first quote. I am totally clueless as to if its good or bad and will get another firm round but time is limited as I have to get this done quickly. So I thought I would put the quote on here and see how it compares with what anybody else has had installed:

Supply and fit *company name* split system 315 litre with 2 panels, 10 risers per panel full copper tinox selective surface.

Stainless steel tank

$5000 total after they sell my STCs

Is this fair do you think?

Forgot to say we have a 2 story house which is the reason for the split system apparently.

its about right. Had a similar system put in 2 years ago for 4.6k.

Works well, at least in the tropics. Have not had the electric booster turned on in 6 months.i Recon is cast about 15c a day to run the pump.
