solar energy ... have you had it installed?
Hi there,
We have been renovating the house (Caloundra,Sunshine Coast , QLD) .
I think that in the long term , electricity & water will become very expensive,so to plan ahead, we have had a 6000 litre rain water tank connected to the house, and the next step is Solar energy to cancel out the electricity bill (approx $300 per quarter for us)
My question is;
Which Solar Energy system did you have fitted & was it worth it?
Thanks!

Had solar hot water fitted some time ago and it's been great, haven't had to switch the electric hot water on since as yet. Bills have been roughly halved so far.
There's been a shortage of parts to install the inverters needed for the Solar electricity, we've had the panels up for a while now and they are finally coming to connect it all up next week so we can start selling some electric back
Went with Solarhart, no issues with them, we paid for the hot water system and got a 'green loan' for the electric system, rather than pay for it, it's interest free so why not.
Rebates came back no prob.

Solahart would have provided the solar hot water system not the solar PV panels.

Ok, but they would have installed them , right??
Is there much difference between the German solar panels and the Chinese ones?
(as the reps are demanding a premium for the German ones - based on the 'German efficiency' stereotype maybe !?)
