Socks

Having not worn any socks since I arrived three months ago, I was thinking about how this had contributed to having more time and money.

Financially I save because the socks I have are not wearing out. Also not wearing them means they don’t have to be washed saving on washing powder, fabric conditioner, water and of course wear and tear on the washing machine. This must add up to at least $4-$5 a week

I save time not having to wash them, hang them to dry, put them on and off and the most time consuming thing of all, searching for the odd one to the pair, possibly a hour a week in total (may be even more). This is time I am spending doing other things, spending the money I’ve saved.

So even the little things contribute to a better quality of life – it’s great here!

And the needles on the beach. (Ref. the very recent incident at St. Kilda. They claim it was unusual but I've seen the revolting crud that accumulates on the high tide line there.)
