Default Social life

We arrived in August 2007 with our three children - 17,16,11.
We have settled well although my husband and I miss a social life without any friends or family here.
Anyone else feel / felt the same or know of meet ups around South East suburbs of Melbourne? (Glen waverley)

Hi Barnetts,
I am in Sydney, so can't help in that front.
I think all of us miss our friends, family and social life.
Having said, I have gone out of my way to meet new people and I have.(including on here) And I now have a much better social life than in England.

It does take time though, I have been here 12 months, and its taken that long to call these new people my friends.
Join and go to as much as you can. You never know who you will meet.
Good luck Jo

Hi there

There is a big meet up in Pakenhen this Saturday.

Lots of names I know from this site and the Britvics site and lots of names I don't know.

We've only just moved here so don't know very many people at all and we are going on Sat to try an rectify that situation. I've never met any of them but they seem like a good crowd and nothing ventured nothing gained.

My kids are yound 8 and 10 but if you ever want to meet for a coffee and a natter just holler.

Hope to see you Saturday. Have a look at this link for the details
