So what is Adelaide Like?
What is Adelaide like?
We are moving to the Gold Coast next year, purely because of family being there, were not sure if we will stay there so we are considering other places.
I do not know anyone who has ever gone to Adelaide, most people seems to gravitate to the usual suspects......Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane etc.
So why should we consider Adelaide? Whats it like, house prices, jobs, weather, people, more importantly are there any decent pubs?
Is there a feel of identity there, old buildings, cultural center etc
I know I know questions questions questions, but we are really interested in finding out your opinions
Cheers

We had never been to oz before therefore based our decision on info collated through the web(this site included)
As for the city I think the word city flatter`s it somewhat, my description would be more of a large town. on the occasions we have been we`ve had no problems parking and the grid layout makes navigating very easy.
reason`s we chose Adelaide were climate(4 distinct season`s)and the house prices,as we came over on a tight budget we wanted to be sure as to get a reasonable home. i`d also heard sa to be a good state for raising a young family and my 5 year old certainly does`nt break my balls as bad as he used too
workwise depends what you do but personally i`ve had no problems finding work and i arrived at the worst time apparentely
there`s a pub down the road called the seaford motel i`ve only been in there the once but it seemed o.k and the natives seemed friendly!nothing like my old local but did`nt expect it to be.

Never been to Adelaide, but research done makes it sound very attractive, even more so knowing there are other Gooners there Wenger Boy.
I think the fact people need coats in the winter put us off (like Melbourne). So Perth got the nod.
