So called power problems in Perth
We are warned that Perth could head for a blackout tomorrow as the temperatures sore to 39 degrees and Western Power are saying that 2 generators are out.
What really annoys me is that on one hand they're telling us we need to watch our electric consumption and be 'energy efficient' yet the very same company are promoting Christmas lights on homes throughout the metro, its crazy and rediculous!

Re: So called power problems in Perth
Queensland's power supply has lots of problems - they warn us that we may lose power during storms, but it just goes at odd times, no storm anywhere, peaceful late night posting session.....and bang, there go the lights yet again.....nearly knocked the wine glass over last time!
We phoned the Energex "power blackout helpline" which had a nice recorded message - "Check the Energex Website to see what time your power will return......" Am I missing something here?
Yet, like you say with Perth, there is no logic - Xmas lights are encouraged, every shop has air con down to freezing point, & no one seems bothered; people at work come in and say "Oh the power went off three days ago, got it back this morning" as if it s normal, and to be expected.
Weird!
