snap on tool box
good day all
i am after a bit of advice for the shipping of my toolbox to melbourne, has any one on here shipped a tool box and if so who with and how much, i have been in touch with excess baggage and they want around £560 and that is if the tools stay in the box, they want to take them out and put them into carboard boxes (not very secure), the tool box weighs approx 80kg and would take 2 strapping men to lift and then they would probably struggle, for those in the know it is a snap on top box with the drop down top and front and has got 5 full size draws, excess will not insure the tools or box unless the tools are taken out and placed into carboard boxes, which i thought was rather daft I.E more chance of a claim being made against them, so i am just after some one elses experience and advice. thanks andy |

Usually theie boxes are shipped in one piece with protective packing around the outside. The guy who picked his up this monday was pretty p***sed off as his tool box was laying on it's side when he went to collect it, despite the sign clearly saying "THIS WAY UP!" My roll cab was dented quite bad, obvioulsly dropped somewhere. I was angry at the time, but knocked the dent out and have forgotten about it now. Cheers Neil. |
