Small cars in Australia
Hi
Am researching car buying for when we arrive in Oz. My wife is short - 5ft 0 inches. In Europe she'd drive something like a Renault Clio, However, I've been told that European models of car are relatively expensive. I've been looking on http://www.redbook.com.au/ for small cars but am confused. I do not know what the typical small car Japanese or Holden/Ford models are in Australia Could someone tell me what the common small car models are out there (non European makes). Thanks |

Think Ford do the Fiesta over here, but its a different shape to the European model.
Daihatsu have a couple of smaller cars on the market here too I believe. Unless you're planning on buying for you get here, probably best to have a wander around a couple of car yards when you arrive and see what your wife likes best :) |

The Toyota Echo seems a bit of an ugly car (if anyone doesn\'t mind me saying) and the Yaris is a far more attractive proposition. |
Re: Small cars in Australia
The Echo and Yaris are identical in body shape. The quality of finish on the cars is different though - Yaris in the UK is made in France and had a nicer interior... The Echo just seemd a bit roughly finished... We have a Yaris here in the UK and hired an Echo in Australia this year....
