slimming world

Just wondered if anyone could tell me why with so many Brits here slimming world hasn't followed suit and migrated also.

I did really well on their diet and would love to be able continue here in Perth, but sadly there are no meetings.

Just wondered if there were any ex Slimming world consultants here, and why Slimming world hasn't made it here hopefully yet !!!

I do not know but I would love them here in Sydney. I have all the books and follow as much as can but always slip off because it too much of a guessing game with the different brands.

You could sign up online and use their website. Because the brands are different in OZ I can see how it would be a guessing game , I too would be completely lost and wouldnt have a clue if something was a healthy extra or not. Slimming world have an online syns calculator, where all you need to do is put in the amounts of fat, carbs, protein per 100g (very easy to follow) and it comes back with the amount of syns per pack, Tin, etc, you might even come across some syn free products too. This is probably the nearest way possible to follow their plan whilst in Australia. Hope this helps.

I asked if this was possible to set up before I left the UK and was told it was not somewhere that they had thought of............................ yet.
Who knows, maybe something will come of it, but not in the near future.

Guess well have to stick to it online for now.

Does anyone else have Muller light withdrawals!!!

Hi Bex,

I am a Slimming World consultant still living in England. As we are hoping to emigrate to Australia next year, and I love my job, I asked the very same question about why SW isn't available there. The answer was because SW have very high standards as to how their classes are run and these are checked regularly by Team Managers (which they are), they wouldn't have the same control in Australia.

I think they are frightened of classes being run badly and giving SW a bad reputation. It's a pity as I would love to continue my job when we move.

I'm thinking of setting up on my own, I just have to come up with a healthy eating plan which is easy to follow and one that works.

Hopes this helps

Hi, let me know it you are going to set up a similar thing (SW orientated) as I too follow this diet here is UK and will soon to be moving to Oz and would be great to have some back up. Maybe there are enough of us on BE to all get together and give Rowena a ready made group!!!!!!!!!!

I too miss Slimming World over here, I cant understand why they havent made the move:unsure:

I cant see that the classes would be run badly if they had the right managers in place, there is a lot of money to be made here for someone with a bit of business sense ( not me:lol:)

Hi I recently migrated out to Oz and was doing slimming world in UK. The bodyopitimise website is good helping out but I miss the groups. Before I left I enquired about it apparently they are looking at setting it up in France/spain but because of distance and costs involved in training consultants and as mentioned the monitoring of it they said SW in Oz is too difficult at the moment. I'm having problems though finding a quark replacement, philli cheese 5% fat is closest I've found. And all the bread is twice the size out here makes it hard for sarnies. Lowfat yoghurt there are a few but not as good as Muller. I miss muller lights lol.
There is definatley A LOT of money to be had. I caught up with some family friends recently, they were you look so good (lost 2 stone so far with SW). I mentioned it and they were like can you help me. So at minute my sister, and mum and I are working together on it.
Has anyone found a quark subsitute? I noticed Bodyoptimise webpage has a special now saying for O/S members use 0% fat cream cheese but i can't find one.

Hi I too am hoping to be in Australia next year (early summer). I have been going to SW for about 7 months now and have lost just over 5 stone. I still have more to lose and hopefully will reach my target before I go. I was hoping to find a similar group to attend once I was in Australia to make sure I stay at target or to help me reach it if I am not there yet. There is a really good Slimming World support forum I have joined and I intend to carry on getting support from there. I am worried I won't be able to find good substitutes for things such as Quorn and Healthy Extra things. I just don't want to put any weight back on.

Re: slimming world

Why not get together with other people who are serious about slimming world and use there tools and hold a meeting in alternative houses each week, and do the weigh-in, pay a small amount, which will cover the cost of buying the good scales, refreshments, and fruit to eat, and have a discussion and maybe bring recipes that you have tried, even after the meeting all go for a couple of miles walk, it's also the meeting people with the same goal,

I so miss Slimming World!!! I know they have a website etc but it is not the same as having to go to the group and get on those scales!! I loved being told I had lost a pound or two (not so much the days where I had put on!)

All this socialising over here has not done any favours for my weight

Re: slimming world

You could try either Weight Watchers or TOWN (Taking off weight naturally) meetings.
