Congratulations!

Would you mind letting us know what your timeline was in respect of when medicals were requested etc? We applied May 27th 2003 and my other half is a builder too, so just wondering if ours could be imminent!
Did you use an agent? That is quick going!

Lots of luck with everything.

Cheers

Hi everyone and thanks for your best wishes.
To answer some of your questions; we went to the Emigration fair at Sandown Racecourse on 14th March. We asked around and were told that we should apply for a Permanant Residency Visa under Skilled Independant 136, Mrs Slater being the main applicant as there is a shortage of Nurses in Australia, because of this the application would likely be fast-tracked. Well it certainly was to start with,

April 12th 2003 sent off application

April 15th E-mail confirmation from Adelaide

May 2nd Request for medicals and Police checks(Phew)

May 16th Had Medicals and X Rays (Doc said all A1)

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwn

June 10th Police checks eventually arrive and are sent off.

June 20th Request for Bond

July 18th Bond paid after waiting for rates to improve!

August 26th E-mail from Adelaide to grant Visa's

We didn't use an agent as our application seemed pretty straightforeward, exepting the $100,000 bond, which we hoped to avoid, we had a vague job offer which wasn't accepted by Adelaide. If we didn't have to post the Bond it could have gone through a month or more quicker.
We are hoping to fly out to Brisbane on or around 31st October (Halowe'en) :scared: :scared:
Chizeroos = Chizkids x 4

Good luck to you all with your applications, for those who have their Visa's congratulations, we know what you went through!
Keep posting.

Thanks Deb's and congrats to you too, have said this before, there are so many of us soon going to the Brisbane area, that it would be nice to arrange a meet several months after we get there to share our experiences.
Also I need a Chippie, Brickie, Plumber, sparks and plasterer to help build our place. Good rates!!!!
