Skills shortage QLD
Just read in the local paper their is a shortage of tradesmen in QLD, and I expect it's not just limited to QLD but over the whole country.
Quote
TRADITIONAL trades dominate the list of skills shortages in Queensland, with a large number of employment vacancies for electricians, carpenters, bricklayers and mechanics.
Qualified childcare workers, enrolled nurses, chefs and hairdressers are also needed, and severe shortages of highly-qualified medical staff continue.

Wonderful why does this country still boast 6% unemployment when it could train its people to do these jobs?

Dont know why?
Biggest industry at the moment is construction/housing boom. Ageing pop brings in healthcare. Stupid policy of giving dole bludgers free childcare keeps that one up. As for chefs well it is the second fattest nation in the world.
